Experience the winter wonderland in Zell am See-Kaprun. Zell am See-Kaprun is home to two world-renowned ski resorts which provide over 138km of perfectly groomed pistes with plenty of choices for beginners, intermediate and expert skiers.  Travel within the resorts is easy – with a free Ski Bus stop located steps from Apartment Zachary. The Kitzsteinhorn glacier, Austria's first glacier resort, has 41 km of slopes and guaranteed snow from October to May.  You can ski with spectacular views above the cloud, with the pistes altitude between 1,976m to 3,029 - at some of the highest pistes in Salzburgerland.  The Kaprun-Kitzsteinhorn 3K-K-onnection gondola linking the Maiskogel and the Kitzsteinhorn with direct access to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier from the village of Kaprun. The Schmittenhöhe Resort rises from the lakeside village of Zell am See. The summit slopes are easily reached from the gondolas that depart from the village centre and from Shüttdorf. The resort has 77 km of pistes - 5 runs that lead directly down into the valley.  In addition, the Ski Circus at Saalbach/Hinterglemm and the Höchkonig Ski resort at Maria Alm can be reached within 30 minutes by car.  One ski pass, the Alpin Card, gives you access to over 408km of slopes and 121 lifts of Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel, Schmittenhöhe and the Skicirus at Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang resorts. That means you will never have to ski the same piste twice- unless you want to. Ski-touring is very popular in Zell am See-Kaprun.  The Ronachkopfe at Thumersbach, Schmittionhöhe (starting at the Areit Valley Station), Langwiedboden on Kitzsteinhorn and the Maiskogel provide plenty of trails. Cross-country skiing: The Zell am See-Kaprun region has over 107 km of prepared cross-country ski (langlaufen) trails, catering to classic and skating styles. Non-skiers can enjoy beautiful wintery mountain vistas, relax at Tauren Spa, enjoy delicious food at mountain restaurants and Alms, go on guided walks, or go ice skating and tobogganing.
