Verbier – Les 4 Vallées – Ski Holidays For Couples, Families & Pros

Verbier – Les 4 Vallées is by and large one of the biggest interlinked ski resorts in all of Europe, and the surprising reality is that all of it lies entirely within Swiss borders. Verbier has other linked resorts just moments away by the integrated lift system. One ski pass also allows you to ski in Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and Mont Fort — that is over 330 km of ski runs. The resort with the lowest skiable piste lies at 1.500 meters, the highest lift goes all the way to 3.330 meters! Additionally, beginners and intermediates will have the most runs, while experts will have their most challenging ever. The slope cathegorisation looks something like this: 19 blue runs spread over 135 km; 20 red runs spread over 170 km and 5 black runs spread over 26 km. There are 17 lifts capable of transporting upwards app. 40.000+ skiers per hour. One lift in particular, dubbed “Le Jumbo”, can carry up to 150 persons in one ride to Mont Fort (glacier).
Snowboarding in Switzerland has always been very popular. Verbier – Les 4 Vallées is by no means any different. In the resort the most famous is probably the La Chaux 1936 Neipark, with beginner, intermediate and professional slides, boxens, jumps and tablets. The annual Xtreme ski and snowboard qualifying event hosts 30 of the world’s best riders to compete for top spot. Don’t think anyone can just jump in—this race is for invites only, meaning only the cream of the crop will be atending.
VERBIER – LES 4 VALLÉES ACCOMMODATION: Numerous hotels in the Verbier area are either very close to the town centre or just a few steps from the lifts. In either case, the lodges provide a free shuttle service. The apartments and chalets in the area can be had for a good price, especially if either pre-booked or booked out of season. Winter festivities and summer horse riding, mountain bike and 4 x 4 races keep a regular influx of visitors at all times.
